[The truth is he doesn't know what to say when Barry mentions his kids. They've always joked about that, showing their kids how cool they were, but they've never actually talked about having children. Together or otherwise. Before it didn't matter, but now that they're a couple, that they've talked about forever, it feels like frivolous and more like something they should actually discuss, at least eventually.]
